3 Remain engaged with potentially responsible parties
(PRPs), responsible parties (RP), and regulatory agencies to ensure a safe and high-quality water supply for RPU
customers from its sources.

4 The Drinking Water Quality Policy Principles (DWQPP) will:
1. Define the policy principles that will be the basis for developing a Drinking Water Quality Policy.
2. Memorialize RPU’s approach when discussing and negotiating contamination clean-up efforts.
3. Provide consistency when coordinating with PRPs and RPs.
4. Provide guidance when discussing with PRPs and RPs about the level of treatment at RPU wells or how RPU’s blending capacity can be used.

5 1.Right to safe, clean, affordable, and accessible water adequate for human consumption, cooking, and sanitary purposes (State of California. Assembly Bill 685.106.3. (a) ).
2.Drinking water must be safeguarded against contaminants that would lower the water quality.
3.PRPs and RPs will be required to treat drinking water at the source prior to entering the City’s transmission/distribution system.

2. RPU’s fundamental mission is to deliver high-quality water to its customers.
3. Applying a multi-barrier approach to protect public health including water supply source.
4. Managing the water quality of dr inking water from its source to the customer.
5. Defines DWQPP and directs staff to adhere to these guidelines.
