• Asked the residents to take a vote on renaming the community room to Andy Melendrez Community Room.
o Approved votes: Zita Romero, Griselda Martinez, Flor
Monzano, Jacquieline McNulty, Cathleen McNulty, Fred and Michelle Stover, Ramon Macias.
o Denied Vote: None
o Comments:
Ramon Macias: After 16 years you would think he would get something bigger than just a room at a community
center. Wasn’t he the longest standing council member in Riverside.
Griselda: I think he deserves more, and we should look to name a center after him or a large space like the new
basketball court at Bordwell Park.
Jacqueline McNulty: As long we don’t try and rename
Bobby Bonds Park, I agree with renaming the room. We
have a lot of culture and historic references with the
current Bobby Bonds Park name.
Fred Stover: How long was Andy in office for? 16 years? He really should be recognized after that amount of time on council.

comunidad. Translation: We should recognize Andy for all his work and for all his dedication to helping change our community.
