3 In February 2022, the City of Riverside Parks, Recreation and Community Services Department (PRCSD) was selected to receive the Creating Community Award of Excellence in Design – Bourns Family Youth Innovation Center from among 535 competing agencies across the entire state of California. The City was recognized, along with 32 other agencies, at the California Park and Recreation Society Conference and Expo held in Sacramento, CA, March 7-10, 2022.
The California Park and Recreation Society awards five categories:
1. Creating Community Award of Excellence
2. Excellence in Design – Park Planning
3. Excellence in Design – Facility Design
