RE: Kaiser Permanent Riverside Medical Center Expansion – SUPPORT
Dear Chair Kirby:
On behalf of the Greater Riverside Chambers of Commerce, representing over 1,200 local employers and 110,000 jobs in the Inland Southern California region, I am writing to express our SUPPORT for the expansion of Kaiser Permanente Riverside Medical Center (Kaiser), located at 10800 Magnolia Avenue.
This item is slated to appear for discussion at the April 28 Planning Commission meeting.
The Chamber’s La Sierra Business Council recently met with representative s from Kaiser Permanente to discuss the project and voted in support of the development.
The neighboring community, Kaiser staff, and local businesses will benefit from the increased medical services and economic growth provided by the expansion . Plans for the project include a five-story hospital tower, a two-story diagnostic and treatment facility, and a five-story parking structure with 1,151 spaces for patients and staff . This development will expand acute medical service facilities and ancillary uses that are vital to the city’s residents. The additional single occupancy rooms and increased parking will enhance patient care experience. Additionally, the expansion of the campus will create 250 staff openings that will benefit the local businesses in the area with increased retail and dining sales.
