Key to the City
is a symbolic gesture of appreciation and a commonly used recognition tool used by municipalities to recognize citizens within their community. Receiving a Key is one of the City s highest honors and is intended to honor citizens within this community who are the unsung
heroes and had a lasting impact by their dedicated service to make Ridgecrest what it is.Key to the City nominations come from a current City Council member by completing this nomination form and submitting it to the City Clerk. The item would be placed on a city council agenda, allowing the council to informally (consent agenda) agree to the nomination. Then, at a future council meeting, the Council member making the nomination presents the Key to the City to the recipient.
Each member of the Council may nominate one citizen per council cycle (one every two years).
