SUBJECT: DESIGNATION OF VOTING DELEGATE FOR LEAGUE OF CALIFORNIA CITIES 2022 ANNUAL CONFERENCE ISSUE
Designate a voting delegate and alternate to represent the City of Riverside at the League of California Cities 2022 annual business meeting on Friday, September 9, 2022.
RECOMMENDATION
That the City Council designate Councilwoman Plascencia as the voting delegate and Councilmember Edwards as alternate for the Annual Business meeting of the 2022 League of California Cities Annual Conference and Expo at the Long Beach Convention Center.
BACKGROUND/LEGISLATIVE HISTORY
The League of California Cities (League) holds an annual conference and business meeting to take action on conference resolutions that guide cities and the League in efforts to improve the quality, responsiveness, and vitality of local government in California. The City of Riverside has the opportunity to appoint a voting delegate and alternate to represent the City of Riverside at the Annual Business meeting on Friday, September 9, 2022.
Councilwoman Plascencia and Councilmember Edwards concur with these appointments.
FISCAL IMPACT
The conference travel and meeting expenses are included in the City Council budgets. There is no additional funding needed to designate a voting representative or to perform the duties.
