Scott,
It is my pleasure to inform you that the Office of Historic Preservation (OHP) has selected the City of Riverside to receive a 2022-2023 Certified Local Government Grant in the amount of $40,000 to prepare a LGBTQ+ Historic Context Statement, create a study list of associated cultural resources, conduct community meeting, complete and transcribe three to five oral histories, and create a StoryMap. This will move forward in cooperation with UC Riverside.
In August you will receive a project agreement (contract) from OHP for your review and signature stipulating the project scope, budget, due dates for progress reports, and the final deliverables.
Please be aware that all expenses for work must be incurred with the grant period of October 1, 2022, through September 30, 2023. This grant and its attendant contract are only valid and enforceable if the United States Government makes sufficient funds available to the State for the fiscal year 2022-2023 for the purpose of this program.
We look forward to working with you to accomplish the goals of this worthwhile project. Should you have questions about the project scope or general questions about the grant program, contact me at the address below. Questions regarding the project agreement and budgetary matters, should be directed to Jenan Saunders, Deputy State Historic Preservation Office at [email protected] or at 445-7019.
