9 WHEREAStheArlingtonBusinessImprovementDistrictin theArlingtonareaof theCityof10 Riverside (the “District”) wasestablishedbyOrdinanceNo. 6626for: (a) generalbusinesspromotions; 11 b) businessactivities; (c) promotionof events; (d) advertisingto promoteareabusinesses; (e) 12 landscaping; (f) clean-upactivities; and (g) physicalimprovements; and13 WHEREAStheDistrictislocatedintheArlingtonbusinessareaof theCityof Riverside, and14 isdescribedasgenerallybetweenArlingtonAvenueonthenorth, alongVanBurento Lincolnonthe15 south, andaportionalongMagnoliaAvenuefromTylerStreetonthewest, toJacksonStreetonthe16 eastand17
WHEREAStheabove-mentionedfunctions of the Arlington BID arefundedby the18 assessmentscollectedfromthebusinesseswithintheDistrict; and19 WHEREASeachbusinesswithintheDistrictcurrentlypaysanamountequalto ninetypercent20 90%) of theCityof Riversidebusinesstaxfee, notto exceed $400.00perbusiness; and21 WHEREAStheCityCouncilof theCityof Riversidehasreceivedtheannualreportof the22 ArlingtonBusinessPartnership (“Report”), actingastheadvisoryboardof theDistrictfor thefiscal23 yearof 2022-2023whichhasproposedmodificationsto theboundariesof andincreasedassessment24 amountswithintheDistrictto adequatelyfundthecoststo performthelistedfunctionsof theDistrict; 25 and26

7 Section1: It istheintentionof theCityCouncilto levyandcollectanassessmentwithinthe 8 Districtfor thefiscalyearbeginningNovember1, 2022, atarateof onehundredpercent (100%) of 9 theannualCityBusinessTaxchargeassessedperbusiness, withoutasetmaximumamount. 10 Section2: It istheintentionof theCity Councilto amendtheboundariesof theArlington 11 BusinessImprovementDistrict, whichwill bedescribedasgenerallybetweenArlingtonAvenueon 12 thenorth, alongVanBurento Lincolnonthesouth, andLaSierraonthewestto ShermanDriveon 13 theeast; saidareaismorefullyshownontheplatof theareaonfilewiththeOfficeof theCityClerk; 14 and
