SUBJECT: Delay of Approval for the National Renewable Energy Laboratory (NREL) / Riverside Public Utilities Agreement “Riverside Accelerating Clean Energy (RACE) by 2040” (FIA- 22-22498)
To whom it may concern,
It is my understanding that Riverside Public Utilities requested signatures this week, so that the agreement may be presented at its monthly Board of Directors meetings for final approvals. However, to remain in compliance with Federal Law and U.S. Department of Energy departmental and office policies related to the end of the fiscal year, I am temporarily unable to grant approval for NREL to enter into agreements with a start date after September 30, 2022. I apologize for any inconvenience or delays that this may cause.
I want to note that we expect to receive authority to enter into Fiscal Year 2023 agreements is expected by the end of next week, October 7th, 2022, at the latest. FIA-22-22498 has already received concurrence by all necessary Department of Energy Officials, and approval will be given by me at first opportunity.
