NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the City Council of the City of Riverside will conduct a virtual and in-person public hearing to consider the adoption of an Ordinance adding Chapter
16.26 - Electrification of New Buildings to Title 16 of the Riverside Municipal Code. This ordinance would require all newly constructed buildings three stories or less in height with some exceptions to be all electric buildings with no fossil fuel sources to meet certain climate action and health & safety goals of the Envision Riverside 2025 Strategic Plan. This ordinance would also require all newly constructed buildings four stories or more to be all electric buildings commencing January 1, 2026.
The Public Hearing will be held by the City Council on the following date:

If you challenge the above proposed action in court, you may be limited to raising only those issues you or someone else raised at the public hearing described in this notice, or in written correspondence delivered to the City Clerk of the City of Riverside at, or prior to, the public hearing. Comments can be presented in person in the Art Pick Council Chamber during the public hearing.
