SUBJECT: EMPLOYMENT OF CHARLES M. FUTRELL TO SERVE AS CITY MANAGER
ISSUE: Approval of the Employment Agreement between the City of Riverside and Charles M.
Futrell, setting forth the terms and condition for his employment as City Manager.
RECOMMENDATIONS:
That the City Council
1. Approve and authorize the Mayo r and Mayor Pro Tem to execute the attached employment agreement with Charles M. Futrell to begin on January 9, 2023; and
2. Adopt the attached resolution amending the Master Fringe Benefits and Salary Plan to reflect the salary adjustment to the City Manager classification and enact certain provisions of the employment agreement.
DISCUSSION:
The City Council, after conducting a professional search for City Manager candidates, has selected Charles M. Futrell to serve as the City Manager for the City of Riverside. Mr. Futrell’s agreement provides for an annual salary of $340,000 plus fringe benefits as outlined for the Executive Group within the Fringe Benefit and Salary Plan.
FISCAL IMPACT:
Any impacts to the budget will be incorporated into the fiscal year 2022/23 budget and current year amounts are sufficiently small to be absorbed with the existing budget.
