jurisdictions demonstrating
Prohousing policies/planning
• December 2022 – Funded by SB 2
• May offer Riverside a maximum of
$2.5 million for affordable housing
projects
• PDP status by March 15, 2023

3 BACKGROUND
Western Riverside Council of Governments (WRCOG)
• Received Regional Early Action Planning (REAP) Grant funding to support member jurisdictions with various housing production programs • March 2022 – Riverside and WRCOG enter into agreement to facilitate implementation of 6th Cycle Housing Element & PDP application.

4 APPLICATION PREPARATION
1. Advanced Planning team working with consultant,
WSP, to develop PDP application
2. At least 30/60 points needed to receive Prohousing
Designation status based on four categories
3. Jurisdictions must demonstrate policies corresponding to each category
4. Resolution authorizing PDP Application is required

7 Staff recommends that the Housing & Homelessness
Committee:
1. Recommend that the City Council adopt a resolution
authorizing the City’s application for the California
Department of Housing and Community Development
Prohousing Designation Program.
