RESOLUTION NO.
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF RIVERSIDE, CALIFORNIA, AUTHORIZING THE SUBMISSION OF AN APPLICATION AND RECEIPT OF FUNDS FROM THE CONNECTING NEIGHBORS TO NEIGHBORS PROGRAM ADMINISTERED THROUGH STATE OF CALIFORNIA OFFICE OF PLANNING AND RESEARCH/ CALIFORNIA VOLUNTEERS AND AUTHORIZING THE EXECUTION OF ALL REQUIRED DOCUMENTS BY THE CITY MANAGER OR DESIGNEE.
WHEREAS, the State of California Office of Planning and Research/California Volunteers (the “Grantor”), has heretofore invited public and not-for-profit agencies, including the City of Riverside (“City”), to submit applications to the Grantor for the Fiscal Year 2022-23 Connecting Neighbors to Neighbors (the “Grant”) via a Notice of Funding Availability dated 21 November 2022; and WHEREAS, in response to this Notice of Funding Availability, the City of Riverside, a public entity, wishes to apply to the Grantor for, and receive an allocation of, Grant funds; and WHEREAS, the City has determined that it is in its best interests to submit an application for Grant Funds for community building and neighborhood service projects in and around the City’s Arlanza Neighborhood; and WHEREAS, the City shall submit an application to the Grantor to participate in the Grant program and for an allocation of funds of approximately Two Hundred Thousand Dollars ($200,000.00) for community building and neighborhood service projects in and around the City’s Arlanza Neighborhood; and WHEREAS, the City is familiar with the terms, conditions and limitations of any such Grant; and WHEREAS, the City is willing and able to conform to each of the terms, conditions, and limitations imposed upon any such Grant to the City; and WHEREAS, the Grantor must approve said application and will require the City to execute a Funding Agreement and other necessary documents upon approval.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Riverside, California, as follows:
Section 1: That the City Manager or designee, is hereby authorized to execute an application for Grant Funds and other necessary documents for the purpose of obtaining federal financial assistance provided by the State of California Office of Planning and Research/California Volunteers, including any extensions and amendments thereof.
Section 2: The City of Riverside hereby agrees to receive Grant funds if awarded, and to comply with each and all of the terms, conditions, and limitations imposed by the Grantor upon said Grant, and the City Manager or designee are hereby authorized and directed to execute any applications, agreements, assurance, or other documents as may be necessary in connection with acceptance and implementation of said Grant as may be required by the Grantor.
