VEHICLE PURCHASE AGREEMENTS

2 1. The Electric Field Division uses vehicle and equipment daily to provide safe and reliable electric service to its customers.
2. Electric Field has nine (9) existing trucks leased from Altec, that have, or are approaching, the end of their lease.
3. Electric Field has three (3) owned vehicles that have reached the end of their efficient usability.
4. Comparing the cost of leasing versus purchasing, purchasing has proven to be the most fiscally responsible option.

3 1. Equipment contained in this purchase will follow current CARB guidelines and will be powered by Compressed
Natural Gas (CNG) or other acceptable fuels.
2. Lingering affects of the pandemic (global microchip
shortages) continue to impact vehicle build times.
3. Purchasing vehicles now allows for RPU to have a usable fleet while planning for the future.

4 Freightliner Bucket Truck
This truck helps crews to safely access overhead power lines and other difficult to reach locations. The bucket can hold two crew members, ensuring a safe and expedient outcome to assigned tasks.

5 Digger Derrick
Digger Derricks range from 45ft to 60ft to accommodate
different tasks. These machines are equipped with augers to create large holes for setting poles and are designed to pull and haul thousands of pounds. They will all have CNG
engines, ensuring compliance with SCAQMD requirements.

8 That the City Council:
1 .A p p r o v ev e h i c l ep u r c h a s eo r d e r sw i t hA l t e cC a p i t a lS e r v i c e s ,L . L . C .f o r1 2 replacement vehicles in the amount of $4,710,868, plus annual service agreements of $100,000 for a term of ten (10) years;
2. With at least five affirmative votes, aut horize the Chief Financial Officer, or designee, to record a supplemental appropriation in the amount of $3,210,868 from the Electric Fund Undesignated Reserves and appropriate expenditures in the same amount to the Electric Field Automotive Equipment Account; and
3. Authorize the City Manager, or designee, to execute all documents and instruments necessary to complete the transactions, including making minor and non-substantive changes.
