RESOLUTION NO.
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF RIVERSIDE, CALIFORNIA, AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER, OR HIS DESIGNEE, TO APPLY FOR, SUBMIT, AND EXECUTE ALL REQUIRED DOCUMENTS WITH THE CALIFORNIA DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION FOR THE CLEAN CALIFORNIA LOCAL GRANT PROGRAM FOR BEAUTIFICATION EFFORTS ALONG MARTIN LUTHER KING BLVD. BETWEEN KANSAS AVE. AND CANYON CREST DR.
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Riverside (“City”) is eligible to receive State funding for certain transportation related work through the California Department of Transportation; and WHEREAS, a Restricted Grant Agreement is needed to be executed with the California Department of Transportation before such funds can be claimed through the Clean California Local Grant Program; and WHEREAS, the City will use the funds from the Clean California Local Grant Program to revitalize a clean, green, and safe pedestrian path along Martin Luther King Blvd between Kansas Ave. and Canyon Crest Dr.; and WHEREAS, the City wishes to delegate authorization to execute these agreements and any amendments thereto.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Riverside, California, as follows:
Section 1: The City Council of the City of Riverside does hereby authorize application to the California Department of Transportation for a grant under Assembly Bill 149, the Clean California Local Grant Program.
Section 2: The City Manager, or his designee, is therefore authorized and empowered as the City’s Signature Authority, to execute on behalf of the City all necessary documents, including but not limited to applications, contracts, payment requests, agreements and amendments thereto, necessary to secure the grant funds and to implement the approved grant project.
Section 3: The authority granted herein to the City Manager of the City, or his designee, shall be valid from the date of adoption of this Resolution until June 30, 2026.
