PRESENT: Chair Plascencia, Vice Chair Fierro and Member Edwards STAFF PRESENT: Robert Filiar, Nathan Mustafa, Randy McDaniel, Jim Lowery, Susan Wilson, Anthony Beaumon, Caleb Ragan, Araceli Ruiz, and Nancy Crunk
Chair Plascencia convened the meeting at 3:30 p.m.
ORAL COMMUNICATIONS FROM THE AUDIENCE
There were oral communications given at this time.
USE OF GLYPHOSATE-BASED PRODUCTS FOR WEED ABATEMENT UPDATE Following discussion, it was moved by Chair Plascencia and Vice Chair Fierro to (1) receive and order filed the update on use of glyphosate products for weed abatement purposes; and (2) request staff to return to Committee with options on herbacides including costs for weed abatement. The motion carried with Councilmember Edwards vote no.
URBAN FORESTRY POLICY MANUAL UPDATE
Following discussion, it was moved by Member Edwards and Vice Chair Fierro to recommend that the City Council approve the Urban Forestry Policy Manual update. The motion carried unanimously.
ITEMS FOR FUTURE COMMITTEE CONSIDERATION
Member Edwards requested updates on Airbnb and re-explore urban chickens.
