• Public Works Department, Solid Waste Division operates a fleet of 38 automated refuse trucks
– 18 refuse trucks have been in service for 10 or more years – 5 refuse trucks are out of service du e to accidents, fire damage, or for major repairs
BACKGROUND
• February 7, 2023 - City Council approved
second tranche ARPA expenditure plan
– Included $6,500,000 for the purchase of
Refuse Trucks.

• Sourcewell is a national service cooperative created to provide government procurement resources and solutions to members in government, education, and nonprofit sectors
• Autocar Truck, LLC and Crane Carrier Company, LLC are able to provide the best overall government pricing in accordance with Cooperative Agreement Number 060920-ATC and Cooperative Agreement Number 060920-CRN that currently expire on August 1, 2024
• Velocity Truck Centers is an authorized dealer for Autocar Truck, LLC and Crane Carrier Company, LLC, as allowable within the terms of the cooperative agreements, and has offered pricing consistent with the discount in the agreements.
• Use of the Sourcewell contract complies with Purchasing Resolution 23914

The City is receiving a discount of $568,969.13 on 10 compressed natural gas automated side-loading refuse tru cks purchased from the Sourcewell contract, which reduced the total cost from $5,301,822.63 to $4,732,853.50

(10) compressed natural gas automated side-
loading refuse trucks in the amount of $4,732,853.50
and two (2) compressed natural gas automated
rear-loading refuse trucks in the amount of
$830,715.85 from Velocity Truck Centers of Whittier,
California for Public Works Solid Waste Division for a
total amount of $5,563,569.35.
