1. RPU operates 50 groundwater production wells that provide water topotable and non-potable systems.2. The mechanical and electrical equipment can run continuously duringpeak demand periods and will require maintenance and repairs, asnecessary.3. Defective pumps and motors need to be addressed in a timely mannerin order to ensure adequate water supply and prevent serviceinterruptions to RPU customers.4. For public health, Parks, Recreation and Community Services (PRCS)requires a dedicated contractor for urgent repairs of pool pumps andmotors. Routine pool pump testing and disinfection is required to meetHealth Department requirements which includes bacteriologicalsampling provided by the contractor.BACKGROUND 6/15/2023

1. On December 19, 2022 a Request for Proposal (RFP) No. 2250 for Services for Well, Pool Pump and Motor Repairs on the City’s public facing purchasing website.2. Three proposals were received on January 5, 2023, with one being deemed non-responsive3. That the City Council:1. Approve a Services Agreement from Request for Proposals 2250 forwell pump, pool pump and motor repair services with Tri CountyPump Company of San Bernardino, California, from July 1, 2023through June 30, 2026, in an amount not-to-exceed $1,125,000, withone optional two-year extension and a total not-to-exceed amountof $1,875,000 after contract extension; and2. Authorize the City Manager, or designee, to execute the ServicesAgreement, including the optional extension and making minor andnon-substantive changes.RECOMMENDATIONS
