2 RiversideCA.gov
3 1. Since 2012, RPU has contracted for 12 renewable energy resources; 11 of these are currently on-line and providing power to Riverside residents.

2. City currently receives energy from 2 Geothermal portfolios, 2 Wind resources, 7 Solar PV resources.

3. These resources typically provide ~ 950,000 MWh/year of green energy to the City.

5 Recent Contracts (executed since 2019)

1. Coso Geothermal Project

1. 10 MW baseload energy, began delivering in Jan 2022 (~83,000 MWh/year)

2. Steps up to 30 MW in Jan 2027 (~249,000 MWh/year)

2. Camino Solar PV + BESS Project

1. 44 MW PV facility with 11 MW / 44 MWh Battery Energy Storage

2. COD was supposed to be April 2022

3. Contracting price overruns & supply chain issues eventually led to project termination

6 Future Contracts (currently under negotiation)

1. New Out-of-State Wind Project

1. PCC-1 wind energy, dynamically scheduled in CAISO BAA

2. Riverside to receive ~369,000 MWh/year

3. Project to finalize PPA by late August 2023; bring to PUB and CC in Q4-2023
Additionally, staff continue to actively search for new renewable resources to meet Riverside’s energy needs while accelerating towards a carbon-free portfolio.
