Dear Ms. Egüez:
Gilbane Development Company is writing to appeal the decision made by the Planning Commission regarding Case No. PR-2022-001434 during its meeting on July 20, 2023.
Gilbane bases it appeal upon the fact there were no direct issues raised during the aforementioned Planning Commission meeting that are not preexisting issues. We believe Gilbane can be a good partner for the City, working to help meets its RHNA numbers and affordable housing goals. We believe this project would be of great benefit to the community while helping the City and State take a meaningful step toward meeting their affordable housing requirements. We responded to the City’s RFP with this goal in mind, and have made every effort to strive to achieve it.
We feel there was not enough reasoning or conversation, or questions raised by the Planning Commission substantiating why it took the action it did. Accordingly, we respectfully request the City reconsider this decision, and ask that we be included on the agenda for the City Council meeting on September 5, 2023.
