RESOLUTION NO.
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF RIVERSIDE, CALIFORNIA, AUTHORIZING THE SUBMISSION OF AN APPLICATION TO THE COMMUNITY RESILIENCE CENTERS (CRC) PROGRAM ADMINISTERED THROUGH THE CALIFORNIA STRATEGIC GROWTH COUNCIL AND AUTHORIZING THE EXECUTION OF NECESSARY GRANT DOCUMENTS BY THE CITY MANAGER, OR HIS DESIGNEE.
WHEREAS, the State of California Strategic Growth Council (the “Grantor”) has invited public agencies, including the City of Riverside (“City”), to submit applications to the Grantor for the fiscal year 2022/23 Community Resilience Centers Program (the “Grant Program”) via the Program Guidelines dated April 26, 2023; and WHEREAS, in response to the Program Guidelines, the City desires to apply to the Grantor for, and receive an allocation of, grant funds; and WHEREAS, the City has determined that it is in its best interests to submit an application for grant funds for community hazard and resiliency planning within the City’s disadvantaged communities; and WHEREAS, the City shall submit an application to the Grantor to participate in the Grant Program and for an allocation of funds of approximately Five Hundred Thousand Dollars ($500,000) (“Grant Award”) for community hazard and resiliency planning within the City’s disadvantaged communities; and WHEREAS, the City is familiar with the terms, conditions and limitations of any such Grant; and WHEREAS, the City is willing and able to conform to each of the terms, conditions, and limitations imposed upon any such Grant to the City; and WHEREAS, the Grantor must approve said application and will require the City to execute a Funding Agreement and other necessary documents upon approval.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Riverside, California, as follows:
Section 1: That the City Manager, or his designee, are hereby authorized to submit and execute a grant application for and on behalf of the City of Riverside, and are hereby authorized to execute all necessary documents for the purpose of obtaining financial assistance provided by the State of California Strategic Growth Council, including any extensions and amendments thereof.
Section 2: The City Council of the City of Riverside hereby agrees to, and by this Resolution does, accept the Grant funds in the amount of Five Hundred Thousand Dollars ($500,000) awarded to the City of Riverside for the fiscal year 2022/2023 Community Resilience Centers Program.
Section 3: The City of Riverside hereby agrees to comply with each and all of the terms, conditions, and limitations imposed by the Grantor upon said Grant, and the City Manager, or his designee, are hereby authorized and directed to execute any applications, agreements, assurance, or other documents as may be necessary in connection with acceptance and implementation of said Grant as may be required by the Grantor.
