RESOLUTION NO.
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF RIVERSIDE, CALIFORNIA, AUTHORIZING THE SUBMISSION OF AN APPLICATION TO THE REGIONAL CLIMATE COLLABORATIVES ROUND 2 GRANT PROGRAM ADMINISTERED THROUGH THE CALIFORNIA STRATEGIC GROWTH COUNCIL AND AUTHORIZING THE EXECUTION OF ALL REQUIRED DOCUMENTS BY THE CITY MANAGER, OR HIS DESIGNEE.
WHEREAS, the State of California Strategic Growth Council (the “Grantor”), has heretofore invited public agencies, including the City of Riverside (“City”), to submit applications to the Grantor for the Round 2 Regional Climate Collaboratives Grant Program (the “Grant”); and WHEREAS, in response to a Grant Notice of Funding Availability, the City of Riverside, a public entity, wishes to apply to the Grantor for, and receive an allocation of, Grant funds; and WHEREAS, the City has determined that it is in its best interests to submit an application for Grant Funds for community building and climate resilience planning for multiple neighborhoods in the City; and WHEREAS, the City shall submit an application to the Grantor to participate in the Grant program and for an allocation of funds of up to One Million Seven Hundred Fifty Thousand Dollars ($1,750,000) for community building and climate resilience planning for multiple neighborhoods in the City; and WHEREAS, the City is familiar with the terms, conditions and limitations of any such Grant; and WHEREAS, the City is willing and able to conform to each of the terms, conditions, and limitations imposed upon any such Grant to the City; and WHEREAS, the Grantor must approve said application and will require the City to execute a Grant funding agreement and other necessary documents upon approval.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Riverside, California, as follows:
Section 1: That the City Manager, or his designee, are hereby authorized to execute an application for Grant funds and any and all other necessary documents for the purpose of obtaining financial assistance provided by the State of California Strategic Growth Council, including any extensions and amendments thereof.
Section 2: The City Council of the City of Riverside hereby agrees to, and by this Resolution does, accept the Grant funds in the amount not to exceed One Million Seven Hundred Fifty Thousand Dollars ($1,750,000) if awarded to the City of Riverside for the Round 2 Regional Climate Collaboratives Grant Program.
Section 3: The City of Riverside hereby agrees to comply with each and all of the terms, conditions, and limitations imposed by the Grantor upon said Grant for acceptance and implementation of Grant funds, and the City Manager, or his designee, are hereby authorized and directed to execute any applications, agreements, assurances, or other documents as may be necessary in connection with acceptance and implementation of said Grant as may be required by the Grantor.
