Chair Cervantes convened the meeting at 9:01 a.m.
ORAL COMMUNICATIONS FROM THE AUDIENCE
There was no one wishing to address the committee.
DISCUSSION CALENDAR
LANGUAGE ACCESS AND TRANSLATION SERVICES UPDATE
Following discussion, it was moved by Chair Falcone and seconded by Member Conder to (1) continue Spanish interpretive services for the City Council meetings; (2) discontinue Spanish interpretive services for all Standing Committee meetings; and (3) direct staff to breakdown the cost of translating City Council and Standing committee agendas. The motion carried unanimously.
RESHAPE RIVERSIDE REDISTRICTING - ESTABLISH GUIDELINES FOR REPRESENTATION OF
CONSTITUENTS IMPACTED BY WARD BOUNDARY CHANGES DUE TO REDISTRICTING Following discussion, it was moved by Vice Chair Perry and seconded by Member Conder to direct staff to research the potential for any Special Election regarding State law to ensure it does not conflict with the City Charter regarding redistricting and report back to City Council. The motion carried unanimously.
