•Riviera Communities HOA and residents have reported ongoing concerns within the cul-de-sac at the westerly end of Alamo St. including: 1. Illegal dumping; 2. Parking violations; 3. Graffiti; 4. Loitering activity; and 5. Trash and debris; and •Public Works previously installed No Dumping signs within the cul-de-sac and No Stopping signs are also in place.BACKGROUND RiversideCA.gov4
•Public Works’ review determined that the cul-de-sac:1.Provides no access to the Riviera Communities housing tract or adjacent businesses; and2.Though there is a catch basin at the end of the cul-de-sac no utilities run along the cul-de-sac. DISCUSSION 3 4

•To mitigate ongoing issues Public Works is proposing a 12-month cul-de-sac closure pilot project on the west leg of Alamo St. at Rivera St. / Apple Grove;•A swing gate and signage to close the cul-de-sac is proposed; and •The swing gate will continue to allow cul-de-sac access for emergency and service vehicles.DISCUSSION (CONTINUED) RiversideCA.gov6
