RESOLUTION NO.

A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF RIVERSIDE, CALIFORNIA, AMENDING RESOLUTION NO. 22451 KNOWN AS THE MASTER PARKING SCHEDULE RESOLUTION TO REMOVE THE EXISTING PREFERENTIAL PARKING ZONE ON FERGUSON COURT.

WHEREAS, the Public Works Department received a petition from 92% of residents within the established Timed 1-Hour Parking Preferential Parking Zone (“PPZ”) on Ferguson Court requesting removal of the PPZ; and WHEREAS, residents indicate that the existing PPZ was established years ago to address outside source parking from nearby La Sierra High School which is no longer a concern, that the PPZ is an inconvenience for residents and their guests, results in costs to residents, and is no longer needed; and WHEREAS, on July 3, 2024, the Transportation Board unanimously approved staff’s recommendation to remove the existing “1-Hour Parking between the hours of 7:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. except Saturday, Sunday, and holidays, except for residents with permits” PPZ on Ferguson Court from Spaulding Drive to the northerly terminus.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Riverside, California, as follows:

Section 1: The recitals set forth above are incorporated herein by reference.

Section 3: That the provisions of this resolution shall be operative only when signs are erected on that portion of the street set forth in Section 2 above, giving notice of the parking limitations or prohibitions herein established.
