SECOND AMENDMENT TO MEMORANDUM OF UNDERSTANDING
FOR REIMBURSEMENT OF CROSSING GUARD SERVICES
RIVERSIDE UNIFIED SCHOOL DISTRICT
THIS SECOND AMENDMENT TO MEMORANDUM OF UNDERSTANDING FOR REIMBURSEMENT OF CROSSING GUARD SERVICES ("Second Amendment") is made and entered into this _ 2025, by and between the
CITY OF RIVERSIDE, a California charter city and municipal corporation ("City), and RIVERSIDE UNIFIED SCHOOL DISTRICT, a California public school district ("District"), with respect to the following:
RECITALS
WHEREAS, on September 26, 2019, the City and District entered into that certain Memorandum of Understanding for Reimbursement of Crossing Guard Services ("Agreement"); and
WHEREAS, on July 12, 2024, the City and District entered into that certain Memorandum of Understanding for Reimbursement of Crossing Guard Services ("First Amendment") to add six (6) additional crossing guard locations with the District to reimburse one hundred percent (100%) of the costs for the additional locations to the City; and WHEREAS, the Agreement is set to expire on June 30, 2025; and WHEREAS, the City and District desire to amend the Agreement to extend the term of the Agreement to June 30, 2026, add three (3) additional locations, and change reimbursement percentage to forty-five percent (45%) City, and fifty-five percent (55%) District.
NOW, THEREFORE, incorporating the recitals set out above, the parties hereto mutually agree to the following amendment to the Agreement.
Section 1, Term, is hereby amended to extend the term of the Agreement to June 30, 2026.
2. Exhibit "A-1" is hereby amended and replaced in its entirety with Exhibit "A-2," attached hereto and incorporated herein by this reference.
3. Section 2, Services, is hereby amended and replaced in its entirety with the following:
2019 ("Crossing Guard Agreement") as may be amended from time to time. City shall manage the Crossing Guard Agreement during the term of this MOU, except 1 that City and District shall reasonably cooperate to find cost saving measures in the Services performed. City reserves the right to manage and control the Crossing Guard Agreement, including, but not limited to, its duration and termination. Crossing guard services shall be provided at District locations identified in Exhibit "B-2," attached hereto and incorporated herein by this reference. In the event of a conflict between District locations identified in this MOU and the Crossing Guard Agreement, the locations contained in the Crossing Guard Agreement shall be controlling."
4. All other terms and conditions of the Agreement between the parties, which are not inconsistent with the terms of this Second Amendment, shall remain in full force and effect as if fully set forth herein.
