CANNABIS BUSINESS ACTIVITIES AMENDMENT
YOU ARE HEREBY NOTIFIED that the City Council of the City of Riverside will hold a Public Hearing regarding the following item:
CASE NUMBER: PR-2025-001795 (Zoning Code
Text Amendment)
APPLICANT: City of Riverside
LOCATION: Citywide
PROPOSAL: To consider an amendment to Article V
(Base Zones and Related Use and Development
Provisions) of Title 19 (Zoning) and Chapter 5.77
(Cannabis Business Activities) of Title 5 of the Riverside Municipal Code. The proposed amendments are
intended to: (1) revise the permitted land use table in Title 19 for consistency; (2) add parks as a sensitive use with a minimum separation distance from
commercial cannabis businesses of 1,000 ft;
(3) establish a minimum distance between
commercial cannabis businesses of 1,000 ft; and
(4) prohibit commercial cannabis businesses from
locating within Downtown or Midtown.
ENVIRONMENTAL DETERMINATION: The Planning Commission recommended that the City Council determine that this project is exempt from further California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA) Review pursuant to Section 15061(b)(3) (Common Sense) of the CEQA Guidelines, as it can be seen with certainty that approval of the project will not have an effect on the environment.
