NEW LAW: ASSEMBLY BILL 981. Requires local agencies to adopt changes to their circulation elements to create designated truck routes by January 2026; 2. Riverside requested revisions to the bill, but are also working to reach compliance as soon as possible;3. Staff do not believe this specific restriction would need to be removed as a result of AB 98, which encourages avoiding ‘residential areas and sensitive receptors’; and 4. Assembly Bill 735 would afford some leniency for agencies making a good faith effort to comply RiversideCA.gov12
