SUBJECT: BOARD AND COMMISSION APPOINTMENTS, REDESIGNATION, AND RESIGNATIONS ISSUES:
Appoint Tola Perkins to the Board of Ethics Citywide seat, Kristina Gordon to the Human Relations Commission Citywide seat, redesignate Rico Alderette from the Airport Commission Citywide seat to the Planning Commission Ward 3 seat, and file the resignation of Kiera B. Vincent-Rose from the Commission of the Deaf Youth Ex Officio seat.
RECOMMENDATIONS:
That the Mayor and City Council:
Appoint Tola Perkins to the Board of Ethics Citywide seat for a term through March 1, 2027; Appoint Kristina Gordon to the Human Relations Commission Citywide seat for a term through March 1, 2028; Redesignate Rico Alderette from the Airport Commission Citywide seat to the Planning Commission Ward 3 seat for a term through March 1, 2029; and File the resignation of Kiera B. Vincent-Rose from the Commission of the Deaf Youth Ex Officio seat; effective immediately.
BACKGROUND:
Riverside City Charter Section 802 provides that each board and commission have one representative from each Council Ward.
Pursuant to Resolution 24318, Section XIV (A), Mayor Lock Dawson recommends that the City Council appoint Tola Perkins to the Board of Ethics Citywide seat for a term through March 1, 2027, and Kristina Gordon to the Human Relations Commission Citywide seat for a term through March 1, 2028.
Councilmember Robillard recommends that the Mayor and City Council redesignate Rico Alderette from the Airport Commission Citywide seat to the Planning Commission Ward 3 seat for a term through March 1, 2029.
On Wednesday, January 21, 2026, the City Clerk’s Office received a resignation from Kiera B. Vincent-Rose. Kiera B. Vincent-Rose held the Youth Ex Officio seat on the Commission of the Deaf for a term expiring on March 1, 2027.
FISCAL IMPACT:
Recruitment and appointment costs are included annually in the City Clerk’s budget.
