SUBJECT: BOARD AND COMMISSION APPOINTMENTS
ISSUES:
Appoint Mark Jones to the Park and Recreation Commission Citywide seat and Christian Cruz to the Board of Public Utilities Ward 6.
RECOMMENDATIONS:
That the Mayor and City Council appoint:
Mark Jones to the Park and Recreation Commission Citywide seat for a term through March 1, 2028; and Christian Cruz to the Board of Public Utilities Ward 6 seat for a term through March 1, 2029.
BACKGROUND:
Riverside City Charter Section 802 provides that each board and commission have one representative from each Council Ward.
Pursuant to Resolution 24348, Section XIV (A), Mayor Lock Dawson recommends that the City Council appoint Mark Jones to the Park and Recreation Commission Citywide seat for a term through March 1, 2028.
Councilmember Perry recommends that the Mayor and City Council appoint Christian Cruz to the Board of Public Utilities Ward 6 seat for a term through March 1, 2029.
FISCAL IMPACT:
Recruitment and appointment costs are included annually in the City Clerk’s budget.
