SUBJECT: BOARD AND COMMISSION APPOINTMENTS AND RESIGNATION ISSUES:
Appoint Austin Coulson to the Airport Commission Citywide seat, Elizabeth Lossing to the Commission on Aging Ward 1 seat, and file the resignation of Joshua Kopp from the Park and Recreation Commission Ward 5.
RECOMMENDATIONS:
That the Mayor and City Council:
Appoint Austin Coulson to the Airport Commission Citywide seat for a term through March 1, 2027; Appoint Elizabeth Lossing to the Commission on Aging Ward 1 seat for a term through March 1, 2029; and File the resignation of Joshua Kopp from the Park and Recreation Commission Ward 5 seat.
BACKGROUND:
Riverside City Charter Section 802 provides that each board and commission have one representative from each Council Ward.
Pursuant to Resolution 24348, Section XIV (A), Mayor Lock Dawson nominates Austin Coulson for appointment to the Airport Commission Citywide seat for a term through March 1, 2027.
Councilmember Falcone nominates Elizabeth Lossing for appointment to the Commission on Aging Ward 1 seat for a term through March 1, 2029.
On April 30, 2026, the City Clerk’s Office received a resignation from Joshua Kopp who held the Ward 5 seat on the Park and Recreation Commission for a term expiring on March 1, 2027.
FISCAL IMPACT:
Recruitment and appointment costs are included annually in the City Clerk’s budget.
