LA SIERRA POOL REQUESTCalifornia Inland Empire Council (CIEC) of Scouting Americawould like to:•Move its Council Headquarters to Fairmount Park, offering numerous opportunities for youth, a scout store, and both indoor and outdoor meeting facilities•Revitalize Fairmount Park with the goal of serving youth in the region•Work with the city to develop new youth programs utilizing Fairmount Park RiversideCA.gov4

LA SIERRA POOL RECOMMENDATIONSThat the City Council:1. Approve the six-year Memorandum of Understanding between theCity of Riverside and California Inland Empire Council, ScoutingAmerica, establishing a cooperative framework under which theCity will make available to Scouts a parcel of land for thedevelopment of a new Council Headquarters at Fairmount Park,offering numerous opportunities for youth, a scout store, and bothindoor and outdoor meeting facilities; and2. Authorize the City Manager, or designee, to execute theMemorandum of Understanding with the California Inland EmpireCouncil, Scouting America, including making minor and non-substantive changes. 5 6
