BACKGROUNDThe existing irrigation well at Fairmount Golf Courseis the primary water source for the 9-hole golfcourse and lighted driving range. The well is morethan 50 years old and has experienced multiplestructural failures over its lifespan, significantlyreducing its reliability and production capacity.Approximately 15 years ago, the well suffered astructural failure and was rehabilitated by the ParksDivision through the installation of a liner. Althoughthis repair extended the life of the well, it was atemporary solution that reduced the well's depthto approximately 100 feet.Three years ago, the well experienced anotherstructural collapse, resulting in the loss of anadditional 40 feet of depth. The well is nowapproximately 60 feet deep, limiting its pumpingcapacity and reducing the Parks Division's ability toefficiently irrigate the golf course and drivingrange. 1 2
