SUBJECT: BOARD AND COMMISSION RESIGNATION
ISSUES:
File the resignation of Jonathan Garcia from the Deaf Commission Citywide seat.
RECOMMENDATION:
That the Mayor and City Council file the resignation of Jonathan Garcia from the Deaf Commission Citywide seat.
BACKGROUND:
Riverside City Charter Section 802 provides that each board and commission have one representative from each Council Ward and the City Council Rules of Procedure and Order of Business Resolution, Section XIV. A. provides that for Citywide vacancies on any boards and commissions, the Mayor shall nominate an applicant for appointment by the Mayor and City Council to fill the vacancy.
On Friday, September 4, 2026, the City Clerk’s Office received a resignation from Jonathan Garcia who held the Citywide seat on the Deaf Commission for a term expiring on March 1, 2027.
FISCAL IMPACT:
Recruitment and appointment costs are included annually in the City Clerk’s budget.
