media and dissemination of emails, flyers handed out at community events, and also coordinating outreach with city organizations as well.

Mr. Peterson noted for Councilmember Broadway that there were many grants available for active transportation, noting the most common on the state level was the Active Transportation Program (ATP) which conglomerated federal and state funds, additionally there were federal and local transportation funds. He underscored that the purpose of ATP was to get projects grant ready and prioritized by feedback received from the community, adding that the PCTPA regularly coordinates with cities to facilitate the submission of grants.

Vice Mayor Gayaldo expressed that there were many great bike trails, however the connectors between the trails were a challenge. She emphasized that since Rocklin had two college campuses, there was an opportunity to get students out of cars and onto bikes once there is a clear path in place to the higher learning facilities. She spoke favorably of the work being done by the PCTPA, including the prioritized list of projects.

PUBLIC COMMENT
Mr. Brian Faircloth asked if the survey respondents were Placer County residents. Mr.

Peterson indicated that anyone can fill out the surveys, exemplifying responses have been received from individuals commuting to Placer County from neighboring areas including Sacramento County. He shared that per a recent regional transportation plan survey conducted which included zip code as a location identifier, over 90% of the responses received were from Placer County residents.

Mr. Benjamin Bjorkman shared that he does not feel endangered by vehicles when walking through the City; cautioned that if more pressure is placed on cars, the less amenable Rocklin will be to its citizens and businesses; felt that sufficient efforts were already being made to cater to hikers and bicyclists with additional infrastructure not necessary; and did not favor furthering connectivity with surrounding cities.
