Hello Public Comments office,
This is a message objecting to the proposed use of subject parcel number, for low / assisted income housing apartment complex, stated at 75 units.
I have attended both town meetings, and we were told that objections are noted by the ultimate decision team, the City Council.
There seems to be an apparent lack of traffic concern by the council, (single entrance and egress are highly limited), this is magnified during the school year. This additional crowding happens 4x per day, 2x at start of day drop off ( and return to home trip for drivers) + 2x at end of day pick up. Our neighborhood streets were never meant for the additional traffic, now a proposal to add in 75 units + their associated traffic (including delivery services).
The area already has more than our share of assisted income housing, with a large complex on Sunset called "Sunset Street" (complex runs parallel to and is a stone's throw from Willard Way). We have our fair share of crime, as police ( and other federal agencies) frequent that complex. To a lesser extent, there is also activity at The Everette Apartments, directly across Third Street from our community entrance. We often have non residents walking our streets at night, making the need for security measures, and removes our ability to sleep with windows open. I personally have had one of my vehicles broken into. This is a huge negative effect on quality of life in Rocklin.
There are other environmental concerns, such as storm drainage, removal of existing granite outcrops, additional noise and pollution concerns.
Regards,
Jay Prange
