Community
-
Driven Elements
(Future Improvements)
As funding becomes available for undeveloped areas across Rocklin, we will look to this community-driven list to guide future improvements. Below are the ideas we heard and the parks we are exploring as potential homes for them.

Sports and Recreation - The community expressed strong interest in active recreation options.

We are exploring opportunities to bring the following to future park developments:
• Cricket field (Potential Location: Twin Oaks Park)
• Grass Volleyball court
• Bocce Ball Court
• Futsal Court
• Multi-Use Court
• Fitness Area
Nature and Passive Recreation - Residents made it clear that quieter, restorative spaces matter just as much as active ones.

Future undeveloped areas may offer opportunities for:
• Meditation Areas
• Labyrinth
• Bird and Nature Trail
• Passive Recreation Areas
Play and Family - Families asked for more imaginative
play experiences. We are looking at ways to incorporate:
• Incorporate More Themed Play Areas
Gathering and Social - Community connection was a
consistent theme throughout the feedback process.

Ideas that were explored include:
• Picnic Tables and Gathering spaces
• Interactive and Public Art Installations
Dog Amenities - Our four-legged community members
were not forgotten. We heard the demand for more dog-
friendly spaces:
• Dog Park (Potential Location: Sonora Park)
Infrastructure and Amenities
Accessibility was an important value expressed by our
community. Future developments will to be
implemented:
• Accessible and Universal Design Features
Throughout Park Spaces

Park Priority & Phasing
Building Our Parks in Phases
Projects will be sequenced to minimize disruption to existing park uses and league operations.

Here is the order we would like to build:

Phase 1: Whitney Park
• First in line because it offers the most flexibility due to the undeveloped area • Construction can move forward without impacting active league operations Phase 2: Kathy Lund Park
• Softball programs can expand into Margaret Azevedo Park during construction • League space is maintained as best as it can be throughout the process Phase 3: Margaret Azevedo Park
• Soccer programs will have expanded space at Whitney prior to construction beginning • Allows for the removal of the softball field and addition of new amenities with minimal disruption Why this order?
Our goal is to keep Rocklin's parks active and accessible throughout the entire construction process. This sequence ensures every program, league, and community user has space to continue while improvements are underway.

Thank You For Your
Collaboration!
