Walnut Grove Avenue Street Light Installation Project No. 43009 - Award of Contract As part of the City’s Fiscal Year 2022-23 Capital Improvement Program, the City Council approved the Walnut Grove Avenue Street Light Installation Project.
The project consists of furnishing and installation of solar powered street LED light fixtures with concrete poles, construction of pole foundations, anchor bolts, and all related appurtenances. The project is located on Walnut Grove Avenue from Marshall Avenue to Valley Boulevard. Since the proposed lighting system is solar powered, the installation will not require installation of conduits within the roadway on Walnut Grove Avenue, therefore the proposed work will not conflict with the recent resurfacing of Walnut Grove Avenue. This project will also remove and replace existing deteriorated light fixtures along Valley Boulevard from Rosemead Boulevard to Loma Avenue. The project is funded with Measure R with a total available construction budget of approximately $410,00.00. As a result of a comprehensive bid analysis to determine the apparent low bid, the bid submitted by Elecnor Belco Electric, Inc. in the amount of $619,256.00 was determined to be the lowest responsive bid.
Recommendation:
That the City Council take the following actions:
1. Approve the plans and specifications for the Walnut Grove Avenue Street Light Installation – Project No. 43009; and
