Agenda Item: Public Comments – Matters Not on the Agenda

From: Shea Hazarian
To: Public Comment
Subject: Public comment for 1/11 Council meeting, off agenda Date: Tuesday, January 11, 2022 2:13:29 PM
Dear City Council,
I have been a resident of District 4 since 2015 and I am in support of Councilmember Valenzuela’s request to allocate extra funding in the mid-year budget to basic city services including streetlights, trash receptacles, and public restrooms. I frequently walk by Leland Stanford Park at 28th and B Streets and the restrooms have been closed for months. These basic services are essential for our unhoused neighbors who have nowhere else to go. (Shelters that require people to separate themselves from their only possessions, their pets, and their community are not a feasible option.)
Many unhoused Sacramentans live in District 4 because of its proximity to city services. I am thankful that Councilmember Valenzuela continues to uplift the voices and needs of this community, and I would like to see the rest of the Council do the same.

Thank you for your time,
Shea Hazarian
