This is a wonderful positive contribution to Sacramento in general and Natomas in particular. Every person living here is strongly in favor of the proposed site that Angelique Ashby has been so crucial in bringing to Sacramento.

No one who wants the best for our community could be opposed to such an incredible addition to our area.

Please do the right thing and support Council member Angelique Ashby's hard work and move this project forward. Thank you

As a local and national nonprofit organization with our headquarters office in the Sacramento and Natomas area, we have many volunteers and partners who support this great project for a CNU medical campus. We are excited to see this come to fruition and want to thank everyone for making it possible! This is a WIN-WIN to help our economy and serve residents who desperately need medical care and services. This is a perfect location for the new medical campus, and we appreciate the great leadership of CA State Treasurer Fiona Ma, Mayor Darrell Steinberg, and Vice-Mayor Angelique Ashby. The CNU medical team, professors, and students, led by CNU Founding President Dr. Alvin Cheung, really care about our greater community, and we sincerely thank them for their perseverance and commitment to see this through. Thank you everyone on the city council tonight for voting in favor of this new hospital. -Henry Chang, National Executive Director (APAPA, API Public Affairs Association) Jannsen Tan

I live a stone-throws-away from this development, and I strongly support this development. For too long, Arco Arena has languished in a state of disrepair. When the Kings left, we were promised a state of the art development. We dreamt of a hospital, a tech hub, and even a zoo. Now, we have the opportunity to actually realize a hospital, which is no.1 on our wish list. This is the best news to grace our neighborhood in years! I cannot imagine anyone against this development. This will bring jobs, increased property values, and reinvigorate the region. This is not just a benefit to Natomas, but the entire region as well. I hope that the councilmembers listen to their constituents and fast track this project.

This hospital will be good for Sacramento. It will bring medical professionals with high salaries to our city, which means more support for our restaurants/breweries/wineries, retail businesses and entertainment venues. That means more tax dollars for our city. This is the kind of growth we need, please join me in supporting this project.

I am so pleased to see this project coming to fruition for the Natomas community! While it has taken longer than I hoped, it's great to see a project that checks off the boxes for best re-use of the Arena site. A medical facility, campus, and high paying jobs are all of the things the community and Angelique Ashby advocated for. I support this 100%

This is exactly what the Natoams community needs - local access to medical services, a jobs center and economic engine. Will do wonders for the city. It's exciting to see this Arena Re-use plan come to fruition.

Any programs to help support the people and create new jobs in Natomas are welcome. Having a medical school, facility and apartments for the residents will be a benefit to the community. As a resident I am in support of continued educational opportunities.

This is a wonderful opportunity for our community! We so appreciate all the hard work and determination by our public officials, and the CNU leadership team for making this monumental project a reality! Many of us have been following this project for the past few years, and we are very supportive of this moving forward. It is time to make this happen! As the founder of Thriving Pink, a local nonprofit which provides a network of support for local breast cancer survivors, I am 110% in support of this development and the CNU hospital. It is an incredible hardship for those facing a serious illness or diagnosis to drive hours to another city for weekly treatment. We need ACCESS to medical care - and we need medical providers to be trained and to live in our community. We urge you to strongly support and vote in favor of the Innovation Park Development and CNU Medical Campus.

This should be a priority for our community! Thank you! Mary Liu CC Yin

We want to thank the planning commission, the city councilmembers, and community leaders for supporting this outstanding Innovation Park CNU hospital project and medical campus. We have hundreds of restaurant employees and team members who live and work in the Sacramento area. Their families will greatly benefit with access to medical services and healthcare. The past two years has demonstrated the great need for physicians and nurses in the state of California. CNU has saved thousands of lives with vaccine clinics and PPE donations as well. We are excited to see how this will have such a positive impact on the economy with thousands of new jobs every year. Thank you for transforming and realizing the great potential of this space! I 100% support this project. This is an amazing addition to our community!!! I am so excited. There has been a distinct lack of medical services in the Natomas area that really impacts the quality of life for the people who live here especially if they rely on public transportation which is underdeveloped in this part of Sacramento.

I am a resident of Natomas and I have been tracking the projects that are planned for the Arena reuse for several years now. I live very close to the site, on Sundance lake. Having seen all the proposed project through the years, I am very, very supportive and in favor of this hospital/school project because is a great job generator and will be a great addition to the Natomas Community. I appreciate Vice Mayor Angelique Ashby's tireless efforts to bring in a project that is consistent with what is good for Natomas.

Please support the recommendation by Council Member Jeff Harris to allocate $10 million of the available surplus to climate change to serve as matching funds for Federal and State grants so that work can begin on the urgently needed active transportation and transit projects that your staff brought forward at the Transportation Workshop last week. These projects are consistent with the June 2020 recommendations of the Mayors' Climate Commission. Time is running out. It is time to seriously address the impacts that climate change is already having on our city and our residents. Thank you, and kudos to Council Member Harris for bringing this forward.

Dear Mayor Steinberg and members of the City Council. My name is Juan Novello, Vice President of the Sacramento Hispanic Chamber of Commerce. On behalf of our membership and organization, I would like to add our SUPPORT to the proposed revisions to the FY2021/22 Midyear Budget. The funding allocations for FUEL Network, La Familia Opportunity Center, Winn Park/Latino Center of Art & Culture, and the California Mobily Center are strong investments towards achieving equity for our Hispanic and underserved population across our city.

The kids in my community deserve these experiences if not more. We have wonderful, talented, and bright kids that just need more to go on the road less traveled so they make it to their rightful destinations. So I am pleading with you all, please pass this item. Over time the benefits from investing, will lessen the opportunity of our kids committing crimes, and heighten their potential to be beautiful citizens of the world.

Lastly, for this initiative to truly take flight, there is a need for consistent funding. Participation by kids may not be as high at the beginning, but over time (like in the past) it will grow exponentially. So please be patient. To really hit this home and to make this initiative enormously impactful, a partnership between the City, SHRA, and Leataata Floyd Elementary (SCUSD) is essential. With the resources both in service and monetary, we can truly decrease the experience of people suffering in poverty. Thank you for reading! Maiuu-Sam Floyd

Personally, I was lucky to be a part the neighborhood I am from and currently call home. I, like many of the kids, was a part of “Sac Rec” or Parks and Recreation both in after school and in the summer. There were activities that kept us busy within the community, and out. Sac Rec would take us out to play sports against other neighborhoods. I think that was a hallmark since you were able to see familiar faces as a kid over time and understand the plights were similar. Walking into another neighborhood you would feel safe, unlike the present moment. Y ou would see these kids again on the “greatest” field trips I have ever been on. From Disneyland to Stinson Beach, those were priceless experiences that the city provided, and I am so grateful for it. I would also see the same kids for other neighborhoods on these trips as well. Kids from Meadowview, Oak Park, Lemon Hill, etc.. (Continue Post)

Good Evening City Council members, my name is Maiu’u-Sam Floyd. Wholeheartedly, the kids in both Seavey Circle and New Helvetia are in dire need of funding that would promote long-lasting social-emotional and academic strategies that they can use for their best life possible.

In the mid-1980s all the way up to the early 2000s, the city supported such a program that helped alleviate the elevated crime rate that once haunted my community. I was young but remember the shootings and various mischiefs that would make the news. The change occurred when there was an investment into the youth. The majority of kids started being a part of community programs and activities. Thus helping curtail the negative behaviors people associated with the people living in the projects. Many of whom are now college graduates and/or professionals. (Continue Post)
