Please state the reason(s) you would like to serve on this legislative body.

I live in Land Park, which is next to the City's largest concentration of public housing (Marina Vista and Alder Grove). I am interested in ensuring the safety and improved quality of life for the families and individuals who call Marina Vista and Alder Grove home. I'm also interested in being involved with the commission to play a role (however small) in future SHRA projects in Sacramento.

Please list all of your professional experience directly related to the seat you are applying for.

I served on the Land Park Community Association board for four years and am a past president of the association. While on the board, I was involved in discussions about safety at Marina Vista & Alder Grove and attended meetings about a drone pilot program on the grounds.

Please list any training or education directly related to the seat you are applying for.

Knowledge I have garnered is from speaking with people
who live on SHRA properties, reading reports about
redevelopment projects of SHRA properties, following the progress of recent projects, and being involved in a
community that includes Marina Vista & Alder Grove
Please list any additional experience, community
activities, volunteering experience, or other
qualifications that would be helpful in evaluating your application.

My church, Midtown Church, is also involved in the Marina Vista/Alder Grove community and has a summer school
program and "Breakaway" summer program at Leataataa
Floyd Elementary that I have volunteered with. I have also advocated for more safety measures at Marina Vista/Alder Grove during Land Park community discussions and via
emails to SHRA after a number of shootings on the property.

Please state the reason(s) you would like to serve on this legislative body.

I'm interested in serving on the SHRA Commission because I care about the work that SHRA does and believe I offer a unique and informed perspective that can assist SHRA in its mission. In my professional capacity, I'm a housing justice advocate and work directly on state policy relating to
affordable housing and fair housing. I'm committed to
ensuring that programs to provide housing assistance are implemented in a manner that is equitable and targeted to the communities in most need. Sacramento, like many other communities, experienced redlining that created
unacceptable disparities in housing access. The work that SHRA does is critical because it narrows that gap by making access to housing more achievable for communities that
have been historically denied safe and reliable housing opportunities. I care deeply about ensuring that all people have a safe and secure place to call home. Serving on the SHRA Commission would allow me to use my knowledge and
experience in housing law and policy to help make that a reality.

Please list all of your professional experience directly related to the seat you are applying for.

I currently work in housing policy at the state level in my role as Legislative Counsel with Public Advocates, a nonprofit law firm and advocacy organization that challenges the systemic causes of poverty and racial discrimination. Through that work, I have helped craft state housing legislation, testified before legislative committees on fair housing legislation, provided feedback to the Department of Housing and
Community Development on the implementation of housing
laws (including California's landmark affirmatively furthering fair housing law), and worked with stakeholders, such as tenants and nonprofit developers, in statewide housing
coalitions.

Please list any training or education directly related to the seat you are applying for.

I am very familiar with land use and housing-related law, including federal programs administered through SHRA,
through my professional work. I have attended various legal webinars and trainings on current issues relating to housing, and continue to do so on an ongoing basis. I'm also a
graduate of the Sacramento Housing Alliance's Boards and Commissions Leadership Institute (BLCI).

Please list any additional experience, community
activities, volunteering experience, or other
qualifications that would be helpful in evaluating your application.

I currently serve on the board of several local nonprofits, including the Marshall-New Era Neighborhood Association, Organize Sacramento, and Cien Amigos. I am very active in the community and have been involved in numerous local
