Can we get to $85 million?
12 $58M
• $6M already allocated to “Seven Big Ideas”
• $64M - $6M = $58 million
$27M
• $31 million is leveraging $109 million in grants
• $58M - $31M = $27 million
$39M
• Unfund $12M in other CIPs delivered by PW
• $27M + $12M = $39 million
13 $39M
• Unfund $12M in other CIPs delivered by PW
• $27M + $12M = $39 million

Challenges
• Adequate funding is not included for other
critical needs:
• Not enough to maintain the aging
transportation system
• No funding for charging infrastructure to
support incoming EV fleet vehicles
• Not enough to maintain City facilities and
libraries
• No funding for implementation of other
sustainability/ climate programs
(expanded urban forestry programs,
building electrification for City facilities,
LED retrofits for all City streetlighting)
15 Regional Agency Support is Critical to
Obtain Grants
16 Seven Big Ideas would require estimated $127 million in grant funds Larger grant programs are very competitive
Can’t rely only on regional federal funds distributed by SACOG • Most grants are $3 to $9 million maximum per project
• Limited bikeway funding
Example of Success: Sacramento Valley Station/Intermodal Facility • Received $50 million in federal funds
• Received $25 million in State funds
• STA provided $90 million in Measure A
• SACOG Board declared it #1 priority in the region
Summary…..
17 • $27M from Transportation CIP
• $12M from Facilities CIP and other mobility programs
• $23M in Transportation funding per year for two future years Where would $85 Million come from?
Implications
• Halting of existing and future projects
• Hastening degradation of condition of City’s Infrastructure • Elimination of critical operational programs
Other Considerations
• No guarantee of success on future grant pursuits
• Many other projects and programs already unfunded
