Hello,
I am a proud citizen on Sacramento, CA. I have been living in Midtown in the same apartment for the past six years. In the past two to three years, I have watched the neighborhood deteriorate and slowly become a homeless camp city infested with predators and junkies.

Besides the fact that these people trash the place, do drugs on our property, deface and steal, there are constant predators following women. I have been followed by these disgusting men multiple times in the past two months. I have called 911 and 311 more times than I ever have in my entire life. I can’t walk my dog at 7:30 in the morning without being bothered and frightened by the decay of society. I was followed again this morning and it took the officers 45 minutes to finally call me back and they still weren’t even able to show up to find these men. So these men are still out there, wondering our neighborhood right now looking for their next victim. It’s not until women are attacked or raped until an officer shows up to help and by then, it’s too late.

The Safeway on 19th street is also overrun by the homeless. They’ve stolen all the carts to the point where companies refuse to send Safeway anymore. I’m witnessing the elderly and disabled attempt to carry all their groceries by hand. The homeless walk in and steal whatever they want.

Our packages are being stolen. Our cars are being broken into. Women are being harassed! There are drugs, blood, and human feces on the sidewalks. There are homeless tents EVERYWHERE.

For the love of humanity, please help us!
How is this okay? What are we doing about this situation? How often do we need to call 911 or report to 311 for the city to clean up our neighborhoods? How many women need to be attacked for the city to take this seriously?
Sacramento use to be such a beautiful and upcoming city. At this point, it might as well be downtown LA. It’s sad and disappointing to see what has become of I will be attending the next city council meeting and if given the opportunity, I will speak up about this. This is not okay! Women should not live in fear! Sincerely,
Sahar Sarang
