I want my comment read during the meeting please.
I noticed there is a special meeting today and no information sent out to the community about decisions made that affect my community. NO COMMUNITY INPUT AT ALL!
1. Although I appreciate prevention I am completely unsatisfied with your approach to gang violence. You do not have a plan to address what is going on now AND I think if you engage the community instead of making these decisions in a vacuum with folks that only see gang violence in reports you will come up with a better plan.
2. Law enforcement should not oversee or control or be the answer to gang violence. The force is made up of predominantly white men that are afraid for their lives in our communities. They had their chance to try it and it ended with black men and boys shot down in the streets. They cannot do it!! It should be a task force of community, civil rights advocates, mental health, community bases organizations and citizens of the communities.
Law enforcement should have one seat. Imaging how effective that will be to restoring the reputation of the police department
I will be on at 10 please read my comment
