My name is Marie Bain, and I live in Sac County. I'm writing to express my support for Discussion Item 34 Relating to Access to Health Care Facilities to revise ordinance 12.96.

Thank you Councilmember Valenzuela and Mayor Steinberg for your leadership on this matter.

I was an escort for PP back in the early 2000s, and can attest to the despicable behavior of the protestors - vocal and physical intimidation at the B Street Clinic to people seeking medical attention for a variety of medical issues.

In the past year Planned Parenthood health care centers have experienced an increase of harassment and intimidation to patients seeking care and to staff providing it.

This ordinance amendment would go a long way to protecting health care access.

Every person in the City of Sacramento has a basic and fundamental right to privacy protected by the US Constitution and explicitly guaranteed in California's Constitution, including the right to seek and obtain all health care services permitted under the laws of this state.

Please vote to pass Discussion Item 34 and support access to reproductive health care.

Thank you,
Marie Bain

Dear honorable Sacramento Mayor, Vice Mayor, Mayor Pro Tem, and City Council members, My name is Brooke Byrdwick and I'm a constituent. I'm writing/calling to express my support for Discussion Item 34 Relating to Access to Health Care Facilities to revise ordinance 12.96.

Thank you Councilmember Valenzuela and Mayor Steinberg for your leadership on this matter.

I have served as a Planned Parenthood escort for several years and seen first-hand the hate, vitriol and abuse spouted at women, often with their families or children, entering the health centers. We take for granted the ability to receive health care services without people screaming at you. Once you've seen it for yourself, you understand the critical importance of these protection statutes.

In the past year Planned Parenthood health care centers have experienced an increase of harassment and intimidation to patients seeking care and to staff providing it.

This ordinance amendment would go a long way to protecting health care access.

Subject: Discussion Item 34 Relating to Access to Health Care Facilities to revise ordinance 12.96 Date: Friday, June 10, 2022 3:13:59 PM
Dear honorable Sacramento Mayor, Vice Mayor, Mayor Pro Tem, and City Council members, My name is Elizabeth Kubey and I live in 6th Congressional district/East Sac. I would like to show my overwhelming support for Discussion Item 34 Relating to Access to Health Care Facilities to revise ordinance 12.96.

It is vital that Sacramento residents can receive the health care they need without the worry of harassment. Through social media, I've seen growing numbers of protesters at Planned Parenthood health care centers. These folks harass and intimidate patients seeking care and to staff providing it. Each person deserves the right to make decisions about their own body.

This ordinance amendment would go a long way to protecting health care access! Please vote to pass Discussion Item 34 and support access to reproductive health care.

Thank you for making the best decision for Sacramento,
Elizabeth Kubey
