1-Description/Analysis
Additional Description/Analysis
Issue Detail: SACOG, as the state and federally recognized Metropolitan Planning Organization for the six-county region that includes Sacramento County, is responsible for preparing the region’s long range transportation plan and land use strategy. This plan must be updated every four years.

Currently known as the Metropolitan Transportation Plan/Sustainable Communities Strategy (MTP/SCS), the update is known as the Blueprint. SACOG staff will provide information on the Blueprint and process for its preparation and adoption.

Policy Considerations: This Blueprint, as the regional land use and transportation plan, will help determine transportation funding decisions and identify measures needed to reduce vehicle miles travelled and reduce greenhouse gas emissions for the six-county region. The plan will include critical determinations related to the role that City land use and actions and transportation improvements are assumed to address and mitigate regional growth.

Economic Impacts: None.
