Please state the reason(s) you would like to serve on
this legislative body.
As a Sacramento native, I have spent most of my life and career trying to improve my community through design and the built environment as well as community service. I would like to utilize my 20+ years of experience as an Architect to help serve the best interest of my community. Finally, to help make Sacramento a better place for my 11 year-old daughter.
Please list all of your professional experience directly related to the seat you are applying for.
After completing a 3 year enlistment in the US Army, I
attended Kansas State University where I obtained a Bachelor of Interior Architecture in 2001. For the past 21 years I have worked as an Architect with a diverse portfolio of public, corporate, education, healthcare and residential projects with a 6 year stint in Southern California working for a global design firm in their Aviation and Transportation practice. Most recently, I have managed over 1,000,000 SF of State of
California DGS SPIF projects in Sacramento. Although I have never served on a Planning and Design Commission, I have been before them to attain project approval. I have an
intimate understanding and empathy for the professionals and projects that come before the board and I believe that my expertise and broad project experience are what qualify me for this position.
Please list any training or education directly related to the seat you are applying for.
I have a Bachelor of Interior Architecture from Kansas State University with studies in Planning and Design.

I am passionate about the affects that architecture has on shaping our communities, and about ensuring that access to good design is equitable and accessible for all community members. I understand "good design" is not limited to
aesthetics, but more broadly about opportunities to share diversity of both our city's culture and our people's
experiences. In addition to my architecture license, I bring a background in behavioral analysis that would bring additional communication and alignment methods to the commission.
Please list all of your professional experience directly related to the seat you are applying for.
