My name is Jack Richards. I applied for a Board of Directors position on the Board of the Natomas Basin Conservancy but am unable to attend the meeting on August 15, 2023 at which I would have provided information about my interests and qualifications for the position. I apologize for my absence. As an alternative, I submit the following information as a brief summary of my interest and qualifications. I am interested in the position because I believe animals need protection and I may be able to contribute to the Conservancy's efforts. I believe I am qualified to serve as a Board member with financial expertise, which I understand is desired by the Conservancy.

My financial expertise comes from 43 years in public accounting. I received my CPA certificate in 1971 and, as is typical, surrendered it when I retired in 2013. I was with PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP for about 30 years (19 as a partner) and 13 years with Moss Adams LLP . My principal role was as a leader of audit teams serving clients from a board range of industries, including not-for-profit organizations and governmental agencies. As such I believe I could be especially helpful to the Conservancy as a member of its audit committee. I appreciate the consideration of me for this board position.
