Contract: North 5th Street Sewer Improvement
BACKGROUND
A. On August 9, 2023, the City opened bids for the North 5th Street Sewer Improvements Project. ARB, Inc. was found to be the lowest responsible bidder in the total contract amount of $1,120,564 and has been chosen to perform construction services for the North 5th Street Sewer Improvement Project.
B. With this agreement, the current project budget of $775,279 will be exceeded. Based on the bid results, the total estimated project budget will be $1,450,279, which accounts for the construction contract, construction contingency, inspection, and staff time.
C. A budget augmentation of $675,000 is required to provide sufficient funds to the North 5th Street Sewer Improvement Project to accommodate for all the work necessary to complete the project (X14170100, Fund 6006)..
BASED ON THE FACTS SET FORTH IN THE BACKGROUND, THE CITY COUNCIL RESOLVES AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. The contract plans and specifications for the North 5th Street Sewer Improvement Project (X4170100) are approved.
Section 2. The City Manager or the City Manager’s designee is authorized to execute a contract with ARB, Inc. for an amount not–to-exceed $1,120,564.
Section 3. The City Manager or the City Manager’s designee is authorized to transfer $475,000 from the Facility Electrical Rehab Program (X14131500, Fund 6006) and $200,000 from the Combined Sewer System Capital (X14010000, Fund 6006) to the Combined Collection System R&R Program (X14170100, Fund 6006).
