medium and heavy-duty vehicles and equipment and is not considered to be a project in accordance with Section 15378(b)(2) of the guidelines.
Sustainability: Not applicable.
Commission/Committee Action: None.
Rationale for Recommendation: The Department of Public Works, Fleet Management Division, issued Invitation for Bid No. B19153311007 on April 15, 2019, per City Code Chapter 3.56, seeking Mobile Repair Services for Medium and Heavy-Duty Vehicles and Equipment. Ray Gaskin Services was awarded the contract, being the lowest cost responsive bidder among the two received. With the current contract amount capped at $800,000, the Fleet Management Division foresees the exhaustion of this authority before the contract term concludes due to higher utilization than initially anticipated. To prevent disruption, approval of Contract Supplement No.06 is recommended.
Financial Considerations: Sufficient funds are available in the Department of Public Works, Fleet Management Division’s Fiscal Year 2023/24 operating budget (Fleet Fund, Fund 6501) to purchase mobile repair services for medium and heavy-duty vehicles and equipment through June 30, 2024.
Purchases made after June 30, 2024, are subject to funding availability in the adopted budget of the applicable fiscal year.
Local Business Enterprise (LBE): Ray Gaskin Services is an LBE.
